Guidelines
All fundraising activities advertised to benefit any entity associated with Milford Regional MUST be approved by Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation (MRHF) before getting started.
- The proposal form is reviewed to ensure our guidelines and the applicable local, federal, and Commonwealth of MA fundraising rules will be followed, which helps protect our organization and your fundraising efforts.
- Fundraisers must positively represents our core values and the mission statements of Milford Regional Medical Center and Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation. Approval only takes a few business days.
- Once approved, you will be given access to Event Coordinator website, permission to use logo and name, and a customizable online fundraising website.
- Collaborations with businesses are not strictly prohibited, but there are Commonwealth of MA rules to protect both the fundraiser and the charity when working with a for-profit entity. Fundraisers like portion of proceeds sales are not recommended.
- While it is reasonable to incur expenses, the vast majority of revenue raised should result in net proceeds. Event expenses should account for no more than 30% of the gross revenue. The percentage is referred to as the “Cost of Funds Raised” (COFR). For many types of fundraising activities, the COFR should be less than 30%. We can help you plan the event budget.
- Event Coordinators may not incur any financial or other obligations on behalf of Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation or Milford Regional Medical Center. Neither the event coordinator nor any volunteers associated with the event may keep any portion of the proceeds as compensation or start-up for future events.
- Intentions to hold an event annually must be requested each year through an updated proposal form
